Access Without Barriers

The Artis Tech & More Scholarship Program is dedicated to removing financial obstacles that prevent individuals and families from accessing essential technology education. Through donor and partner support, scholarships may cover tuition, software, computers, and resources for affordable internet access. Our commitment is to ensure every learner can build the digital skills needed for school, work, and everyday life.

Eligibility Criteria

Who May Apply?

Scholarships are offered to Metropolitan Detroit residents who meet specific eligibility and financial‑need criteria, supporting equitable access to essential technology education opportunities.

1. Youth Scholarship Pathways

Our Youth Program supports learners ages 8–17 who show interest in technology and commit to attending classes. Scholarships prioritize students from economically disadvantaged communities and require parent or guardian approval. This pathway helps young learners build confidence, digital literacy, and future‑ready skills through structured, supportive instruction.

Scholarship Selection Criteria

Applications are reviewed holistically, considering financial need, interest in technology, commitment to completing the course, educational or career goals, and community involvement. Funding availability also influences decisions. Academic grades are not the primary factor, ensuring fair access for motivated learners.

Scholarship Benefits

Scholarships may provide full or partial tuition, required software, loaned laptops, learning materials, and resources for affordable internet access. Awards vary based on funding and individual need, ensuring learners receive meaningful support to build essential digital skills and confidently complete their chosen program.

Steps For Under‑18 Applicants

Applicants under age 18 must provide a signed parent or guardian consent form and a letter of recommendation from a teacher, counselor, employer, pastor, or community leader. These documents confirm support, readiness, and accountability, ensuring minors receive appropriate guidance throughout their scholarship participation.

Scholarship Recipient Responsibilities

Recipients are expected to uphold strong participation standards to maintain scholarship eligibility and ensure meaningful learning progress. Each learner agrees to the following commitments:

  • Attend all scheduled classes consistently;
  • Participate respectfully and actively in learning activities;
  • Complete assignments to the best of their ability;
  • Communicate promptly if attendance or participation becomes difficult;
  • Understand that unmet expectations may affect scholarship status.

Scholarship Selection Process

All scholarship applications are reviewed by the Artis Tech & More Scholarship Committee using a fair, holistic evaluation approach. Selection is based on several key factors:

  • Eligibility requirements;
  • Demonstrated financial need;
  • Program availability;
  • Funding availability;
  • Applicant commitment and readiness;
  • Notification provided before each semester begins.

Equal Opportunity Statement

Artis Tech & More is committed to providing equal educational opportunities for all qualified applicants. Scholarships are awarded without discrimination based on race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, or any other protected status.
